Ear and eye protection must be worn by everyone on the firing line.FORT CARSON HUNTING AND FISHING REGULATIONS (FC 200-6).No Shooter under 18 may use the range facilities without adult supervision.Range One is limited to use by the El Paso County Sheriff’s personnel and other law enforcement Monday through Friday.Violators will be asked to leave the premises. No Alcoholic beverages will be allowed on or behind any firing line or range.No Military armor piercing or tracer ammunition may be used on any range.No handgun may be removed from that holster except on the firing line. A handgun may be carried on one’s person only in a holster designed for safe and secure retention of that handgun. All firearms must remain unloaded with actions open except on firing line.Shooting will take place on designated ranges only.Empty Chamber Indicators (ECI) must be inserted in the chamber of all cleared firearms during “SAFE” or “COLD” conditions on the Range.No Children under the age of 6 years will be allowed on the range.Completion of the project will occur during third phase with the addition of a restaurant. The club house will include a retail store, classrooms and offices. The second phase of the project will include the construction of five (5) skeet & trap ranges and a club house. Three (3) ranges will be designated for rifles with distances between 100-600 yards. Shooters will check/set and retrieve targets. During phase one (1), seven (7) shooting ranges are being constructed with more than ninety (90) shooting stations and two (2) additional ranges with thirty (30) firing points extending 50 yards – designed for pistols. The Range Complex is a three (3) phase project.

Shooters using the range will not have to enter Fort Carson to use the range. The entrance is located just outside Fort Carson’s Gate 20 security perimeter. The 400 acre site sits on Army land near Interstate 25 just off mile marker 132. Army, El Paso County, the El Paso County Sheriff and the Colorado Division of Parks and Wildlife. The Cheyenne Mountain Shooting Complex is a joint project between the U.S. Community Development Block Grant (CDBG).
